Build a shelter for storage and protection. When the neighbourhood turns hostile, shrink the whole thing, walls, chests, stations and all, and redeploy it somewhere the planet is nicer to you.

One Multitool, many jobs
Swap attachments to mine stone, wood and plasma, then craft at stations, from a stone axe to sci-fi tech.

Resource grenades
Throw it, watch it burst into resource nodes, mine the lot. The fastest way to stock up before nightfall.
Combat
Hunt, or be hunted
Primitive or plasma weapons against local predators. Cook what you catch. The wildlife has the same plan for you.
Exploration
A planet with secrets
Caves, cliffs, rivers and relics under a violet sky. Follow the quests, or do your own thing. The choice is yours!
Survival
Eat, cook, keep going
Manage hunger and health, cook at the campfire, and build up from a lean-to to a two-storey homestead.

He's not impressed.
Bob is a sarcastic virtual sidekick who mocks your lack of skills and questions every choice you make. Technically he's your survival coach. Deliberately, he's the least helpful one in the galaxy.

The Shrink Device lets you pack up your entire base, with its walls, storage and stations, and redeploy it somewhere else on the planet.
Bob is your virtual sidekick: a floating blue blob in a cowboy hat who mocks your skills and questions your choices. He is, on purpose, a very unhelpful survival coach.
